SWANNANOA, NC East Haven Apartments will be an affordable apartment complex, providing safe, energy-efficient housing for an estimated 200 residents between its 95 units, including retirees, veterans, people with disabilities, and at least 30 families with children who have a great need for these apartments in the Swannanoa Valley. Mountain Housing Opportunities Inc., a private charitable corporation in Asheville, NC plans to build East Haven on Highway 70 in Swannanoa near the area's Ingles supermarket, and will become the cornerstone of a safe, pedestrian-friendly community connecting residents with nearby schools, retail and jobs. The project is being funded by local government and federal housing tax credits awarded by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency. |
